Selenium toning cools the image slightly, removing any olive hint, and with extended toning the shadows get a distinct purplish black hue. Sepia toning involves replacement of silver in the black and white photographic print by silver sulphide, which is brown. Each print is hand tinted using oil pencils. Never computer aided in any way.
