Midnight Maple

Midnight Maple is a contemporary oil painting with applied silver leaf. The background to the work is a vibrant dark blue, of coeruleum and French ultramarine, overlaid with imitation silver leaf. Texture and interest has been added by hatched brush strokes. Two layers of leaf have been used to represent the leaves. This picture is on cotton gallery wrapped fibreboard, and the edges are painted in the same blue so there is no need for further framing. A fun piece of art.
